David Marshall Porter & Mary Nihill David Porter was born the son of James Porter, a farmer, and Jane nee. Cassidy at Middle River, Pictou, Nova Scotia Canada in 1829, a Presbyterian. David migrated to Australia about 1853 reason at this time unknown on the ship AURORA', which departed September 1852 from Prince Edward Island, Pictou, Halifax, and arrived in Port Philip Bay, Australia in February 1853. Mary Nihill was an only child, born the daughter of Patrick Nihill, a farmer, and Margaret nee. O'Brien at Co. Limerick, Ireland in 1841. Mary migrated to Australia in about 1861, after the death of her parent/s family anecdote .
